What to Bring

Bedding

- Sleeping bag or sheets and warm blankets, Pillow, PJs

Outside clothing

We’re just outside of the fog line at the Coast, but up in the hills weather can be chilly and unpredictable.  Plan for rain, especially in the winter months.  We’d recommend the basics:

- Underwear

- Socks (numerous pairs in case you get wet hiking)

- Jeans or durable long pants

- Shirts - long and short sleeve -

- Sweatshirts

- Hat

- Warm Jacket

- Good hiking shoes

- Raincoat or Poncho.  Rain pants are recommended if you have them!

Toiletries

- Soap, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, shower shoes, any prescriptions or other medications

We welcome you to bring along school work, grading papers, etc. but also hope you’re able to get out on trail with us as you’re willing and able!  Don’t forget a camera and film.

We invite you to bring additional snacks for yourself, but we ask that you refrain from providing sweets or snacks to students during the week.  They get plenty in the dining hall and at snack time!

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings after dinner you are responsible for leading activities of your choosing for one hour, from 6:15 to 7:15pm.  In planning for the week, you may consider bringing supplies or teaching materials to utilize during this time.  In the past, teachers have worked on journals, writing letters home, additional/supporting writing and math activities, etc.
